| Skin Care in Different Seasons |
In winter, skin becomes dry. It loses moisture and feels rough. Soaps are alkaline, which make are skin more dry. So use less soap, or milder soaps like Dove, Glycerine or Baby soaps. Apply coconut oil or moisturiser immediately after bath. Cracked lips and feet need white petroleum jelly.
In summer, the picture is different. Our skin perspires continuously. So take bath 2-3 times a day. Bacteria tend to grow in the presence of sweat, so use anti-bacterial soaps like Dettol, Neko, Cinthol, Lifebuoy. Sprinkle sufficient powder on your body. Change undergarments twice a day. Drink more water. Take sun protection in the form of caps, umbrella and sun-screen lotions. Use cotton clothes.
In monsoon, body remains wet. Change clothes more often. Use synthetic clothes. Use sufficient amount of talcum powder on groins, armpits, etc.
Care in summer and monsoon is essential to prevent heat boils and fungal infections.
